Remember Not To Forget

"Be careful that you don't forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt." Deuteronomy 6:12

Have you every forgotten something? Of course, you have and as I get older, I find it easier to forget things. The older generation suggested tying a string around a finger of your hand. I don't know if that would work but we all need something to remind us. Personally, I use my smartphone to make notes and appointments. I even have a spreadsheet with dates and things I don't to forget.

When Joshua led the Israelites into the Promise Land, he had a stone memorial built after they crossed the Jordan River. It was to remind future generations that God not on dried the Jordan Joshua 5:1 so they could cross but He also parted the Red Sea so they could escape the Egyptian army. Joshua 4:19-24

Before Jesus returned to Heaven, He instituted a memorial meal by which future generations of believers could remember His death and resurrection. We all need a way or method which we can record what God has done in our lives. Maybe starting and journal or diary could be helpful.

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I not forget all the good things He has done for me. Psalm 103:2
