"Mortals have a limited life span. You've (God) already decided how long we'll live - You set the boundary, and no one can cross it." Job 14:5
Whenever we buy a product at the supermarket, there is something we check. That's the expiration date. 'Expiration date' is the period from date of manufacture to the period which distribution and sale are permitted to the customer.
When a person dies, we use a variety of terms to describe death: Passing, died, demise, deceased, exited this life and many more. We don't like to think about death, let alone talk about it. But the fact remains, we all are going to die. (Expire) Hebrews 9:27 Living to be 100 is getting more common but it's still rare. We strive to extend our lives as much as possible.
God governs the world and that includes the time of our conception and the time of our death. When we die is not a matter of accident or chance. But since we do not know the exact time, we should prepare ourselves for that day. We can be, by giving our lives to Christ and trusting Him to forgive and save us.
When we know Christ, then we can say with psalmist, "My times in your hands." (Psalm 31:15) Jesus came to give us life - life right now and life in the world to come.
