Do You Surrender?

After being in Christian ministry for forty years, I have heard just about every excuse for people refusing to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior: Too many hypocrites in the church. Professing Christians who do not live according to their testimony. Ministries that continually ask for money and the list goes on.

But I believe the real issue is they refuse to surrender their lives to Christ. When you confess, you are acknowledging your past actions were sinful. But to be a true Christ-follower, you must also make Him Lord of your life meaning your totally surrender every area of your life to Christ.

You unconditionally surrender your rights to Him and people don't want to yield control. When the Empire of Japan surrendered during WWII, they unconditionally surrendered, they couldn't dictate any conditions. People today want to partially surrender, trying to retain control in some areas. But God will not accept a partial surrender. He is to be Lord of all or not Lord at all.

But our surrender is not just a one time action. It is to be a total surrender each and every day, moment by moment. So, the question is not did you yield control of yourself in the past but are you currently living a surrendered life today?
